Slight remains of a small square enclosure. Now just an earthen platform 30m approx and across 1.2m high. First mentioned 1334. Precise function not known. Possibily a castle of some form. (Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust HER as medieval moated site)

Gatehouse Comments

Low platform, now, more or less, obliterated under town market. Most probably the manorial centre Small size and relatively late date of first mention suggest more a modest manor house rather than even a small castle.
