Earthwork remains of a motte and bailey. The motte is 2.5m high and 45m in diameter at the base. it is mutilated on its crest and destroyed in the south west by the construction of Castle Farm. Traces of a ditch, now 0.4m deep remain in the north west, but the bailey to the south west implied by RCHME is apparently natural. Probably the site of Cublington castle. Stirling Jones writes 'Motte & bailey, prob large shell keep. Although a stone castle existed on this site the motte is now obscured by a later house. There are buried stone foundations on the edge of the former bailey. Stone on & around the site was used as hard core under the modern buildings, part of the wet moat is still present with other signs of wet defences & house sites in former outer enclosures.'
