Bastle, form uncertain. Measures 8.6 x 6.3m externally, with side walls 0.5m thick, and end wall 1.4m thick. Byre entrance in long wall. Present state - house (Ryder 1990).
Thorngrafton Farmhouse, formerly known as Greenhead Farm, lies on the north side of the village street. The western part of the house incorporates remains of a probable bastle c.8.6m by 6.3m externally, with side walls 0.95m thick and an east end wall 1.43m. Only the lower courses survive and the foot of the south east quoin. A doorway at the west end of the south wall (now converted to a window) has large blocks in its jambs and may be original (Ryder 1994-5). (Northumberland HER)
