Of "Barty's Peel" which is said to have stood about 100 yards south-east of Comb farmhouse, nothing now remains. (Graham p. 43)

The outline of a building or small enclosure is shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of the 1860s. (Keys to the Past)

Gatehouse Comments

Barty's Peel (or Pele) is one of several names given to Bog Head Bastle but that lies north-west of The Comb. Barty's Peel is known from historical sources but not in a manner that would allow precise location and the lost building shown in 1860 could certainly have been a bastle. However, there doesn't appear to be any support elsewhere for Graham's assertion.
