Gatehouse Comments

In flood valley of Afon Efyrnwy and any feature that may have existed lost through river erosion and alluvial deposition. The name 'fort of the meadow' seems unlikely to refer directly to a medieval fortified site although might refer to demense holding of a high status medieval house in the area.
