Clark lists in Lancashire "Robin Hood's Butt.–At Clapham is a mound, but its character is doubtful."
The mound known as Butt Hill or Robin Hoods's Butt is likley to be a natural feature but was tentatively included in a list of mottes by a Victorian antiquarian, who himself noted the element of doubt in this interpretation. (PastScape)
